About Us


Department of International Marketing and Retailing is run by Professor Tomasz Domański. We carry out research and teaching programmes in international marketing with special emphasis on international retailing strategies and marketing communications.  

Our department holds a unique position in the academic environment in the area of international research and analysis in development of modern forms of distribution. We have expertise in the following fields: international strategies of large retail chains, modern forms of distribution, sales management, internationalization of Polish retail trade, brand strategy, place marketing, strategies for SMEs.

We aim to create a center of excellence in Łódź, bridging the world of business and marketing academics specialized in international marketing management, modern retailing and branding.

Internationally, our department is strongly connected with established academic centers in France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Austria, Finland, United Kingdom, Denmark, Sweden and Germany. Our most important partners include: University of Lyon III, University of Paris II Pahthéon, University of Granada and Santiago de Compostela, University of Metz and French Marketing Association.

Department of International Marketing and Retailing is also the host of international conferences and seminars as well as the publisher of books in international marketing and retailing. Our Euromarketing book series has been published since 2001.  


Teaching programme 

Our teaching staff are the lecturers of the Faculty of international and political studies, University of Łódź. All of them were awarded with PhD in management or economics. Our Department has expertise in creating tailor-made teaching programmes for and with business practitioners in English and French.

We created a nationally unique International Marketing programme, for the master’s students taught fully in English. The programme is recognized and appreciated by the many Polish and foreign students. Our flagship post-graduate programmes include International Marketing Management and International Hotel Management for managers in hospitality business (developed in cooperation with Orbis/ Accor Group). 

Since 1993 professor Tomasz Domański with his team have offered MBA-type Polish-French post graduate programme in Management. It was created in cooperation with The Institute  of Enterprise Management of the University Lyon III, France. This nationally unique post graduate diploma has successfully operated for almost 20 years.
